Ann Kearsley Design is a landscape architecture and urban design firm in Portland, Maine specializing in ecological landscape design, restoration and planning. Firm projects range from large-scale master planning to public parks and private gardens and include numerous public and private landscapes for sculpture. We have extensive experience with the planning and design of agricultural landscapes where farming operations are integrated with experiential educational programming, agricultural research and community outreach.

Ann Kearsley RLA, MLAUD, owner and principal of AKD, is a registered landscape architect* and urban designer with over 40 years experience designing landscapes for individuals, communities and institutions. She holds masters degrees in both landscape architecture and urban design from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and an AB in English and Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College. She teaches at the Rhode Island School of Design in the graduate landscape architecture program and regularly presents at national and international conferences on restoration ecology and sustainable landscape design.
