Falmouth Public Library 2014 Garden Tour

Gorgeous weather, happy visitors and fresh mown hay!

Nearmerezero was featured on this year’s Falmouth Garden Tour, one of 8 gardens open to the public for the day. Hay bales dotted the surrounding fields, bobolinks chittered and swooped and a huge snapping turtle basked in the pond. Visitors had lots of questions about the native plant palette, especially the Bowman’s Root (Gillenia trifoliata) in the shade garden, which was in full, glorious bloom. Mown paths led folks out into the orchard and through the unmown swath of wildflowers and grasses left for pollinators and grassland nesting birds.
