A landscape proposal for a new residence along the Maine coast embeds a transparent living room pavilion within the transitional landscape between woodland and water’s edge. The design includes a linear entry garden, where a path to the front door winds through plantings extending the existing woodland edge out towards the building. As the main path nears the front door, the ocean view expands, visible now both through and alongside the living room pavilion. Beyond the entry forecourt, a smaller path moves off to the south, linking the entry garden to a terrace that wraps around the living room, and ending in a flight of sloping turf steps down to the waterside lawn.
