Ann Kearsley Design is a landscape architecture and urban design firm based in Portland, Maine. We specialize in ecologically-based landscape design and ecological restoration, linking landscape form and spatial structure to the dynamics of a site’s natural systems and the enhancement of ecosystem function. Firm projects range from large-scale master planning to public parks and private gardens and include numerous public and private landscapes for sculpture. Ann Kearsley RLA, MLAUD owner and founding principal of Ann Kearsley Design, is a registered Landscape Architect (ME #3075, MA #4032, OH #1501342, AZ #36907) and Urban Designer with over 37 years’ experience designing and building landscapes for institutions, communities and individuals. She holds masters’ degrees in both landscape architecture and urban design from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, as well as an AB from Dartmouth College. She teaches at the Rhode Island School of Design in the graduate Landscape Architecture programs and at Northeastern University in the Urban Landscape program. She is a frequent lecturer at regional, national and international conferences focused on sustainable landscape and urban design.
