Unity College, a small, rural, liberal arts college focusing on environmental studies, is developing the SonnenHaus Village, a cluster of three residence halls constructed to the Passive House standard. TerraHaus is Phase I of the SonnenHaus Village project.

AKD’s Site Plan and landscape design for SonnenHaus Village and TerraHaus initiate a campus-wide shift towards an ecologically based framework for development at the College, a framework characterized by combining the principles of Landscape Ecology with the functional requirements of a working landscape that supports the College’s Sustainability Science curriculum.
